Lead On Your Toes

It’s important for leaders to Lead On Their Toes. Not only from the idiom perspective of being acute, aware and prepared, but from the sense of leaning forward and leading.  Leadership is about being ready, being quick on your feet and always pressing forward.  Leadership happens in motion and with progress.  The best leaders are those who manage to Lead On Their Toes!

The quickest way for inadequate or poor leadership to rear it’s ugly head is when people start leading on their heels.  This is reactionary leadership and generally happens as a result of a leader who has been micromanaged, beat down, second guessed, lost confidence etc.  Leading On Your Heels is all about approval and reaction instead of leading.

If You Find yourself Leading On Your Heels…  Stop, Drop and Get Back On Your Toes!

Lead On Your Toes!

Have you experienced the positive results of on your toes leadership or the negative effects of on your heels leadership?  Share your thoughts!
